Contemporary Culture and Arts Center Subotica

Contemporary Culture and Arts Center, Subotica, is an umbrella association founded on July 3, 2020 in Subotica with the aim of promoting contemporary art, providing support to local artists and cultural workers as well as building a space of freedom of expression, research, networking and exchange.

The Centre was founded by ten art associations from Subotica: Klara and Rosa Citizens' Association, Summer Cinema Theatre Association, Artrust Citizens' Association, Etnofest, NoWave Films, Junior Music Studio Citizens' Association, Authentic Vojvodina Citizens' Association, Iuventus Ventus Citizens' Association, Symposion Citizens' Association, Szab-Way Theater Citizens' Association, actors, dancers, fine artists, musicians, cultural and youth workers.

The structure of the Association of the Centre for Contemporary Culture and Art consists of the Coordination Body, the Assembly and the Council.

Members of the Council of the Association are: Igor Štiks, Špela Trošt, Slađana Petrović Varagić, Iva Čukić, Višnja Kisić, Jasmina Prolić and Szabolcs Tolnai.

Members of the Coordination Body are the executive (Gordana Vukov Ciganjik) and operations coordinator (Daniela Mamužić) and 6 program coordinators: Jelena Grujičić (fine arts), Petar Mitrić (film), Zsuzsanna Kalmár (theater), Henrietta Varga (dance), Filip Budanović (music) and Ilija Vuletić (literature). Many other individuals who make up the Assembly of the Centre are gathered around the idea of the Centre.

The languages in which we build the space of exchange, production and presentation, development of critical thought and activism, and the programs that connect, rather than separate, are Serbo-Croatian and Hungarian.

Logo: The conceptual solution for the logo of the Centre came from Igor Halasević, Authentic Vojvodina. From his rich archive of documented works of artists from Subotica he suggested a print, whose contours we took as a sign of the Centre. Imre Vinkler is the author of the original print.
